Cheese Shop & Bar for St. Louis, Missouri

Continuing my study of program (and of cheese) I was prompted to create a cheese bar and shop sited in the City Sculpture Garden of St. Louis. This is a beautiful site that features many works of art and provides an exceptional view of both the Wainwright building and the Gateway Arch.
In my design, I wanted to provide visitors with an experience of connectivity with the site and with each other. To give this experience, I included aspects of wrapping and angularity in my structure, providing a feeling of synthesis of architecture and the art which surrounds it. The building itself boasts an open floor plan, allowing for the mingling of anyone who attends. the structure also includes a rooftop bar which provides a spectacular view of the Gateway Arch.
